Youngest Confirmed Mother in Medical History

On May 14, 1939, Lina Medina, a five year-old Peruvian girl, became the youngest confirmed mother in medical history, when she gave birth to her son. Lina has never revealed the identity of the child's father, and she has never explained the circumstances of how she became pregnant. Her son grew up healthy and died in 1979 at the age of 40. Although the case was speculated as a hoax, a number of doctors over the years claim to have verified it.
