Project MKUltra

The CIA, under the direction of Allen Dulles, launched its highly controversial mind-control program, Project MK Ultra, on April 13, 1953. The secretive program began after it was discovered that information about the infamous human experiments of Dr. Josef Mengele and other Nazi scientists had fallen into the hands of the Soviet Union. The MKUltra program engaged in many illegal activities, including the use of unwitting citizens as test subjects.
